O'Brien's Log Cabin - Texas County, Missouri
- Nestled in the Central Ozarks surrounded by 10,000 acres of National Forest

Our secluded log cabin is located on a bluff overlooking the Big Piney River. We are in the heart of the Ozarks near Licking, Missouri (Texas County) and just a 2 l/2 hour drive southwest of St. Louis, Missouri.

The wooded property borders the Big Piney River on the East and thousands of acres of the Mark Twain National Forest on the West. The deck is 200’ above the river offering a great view of the river and valley.

Fishing, canoeing, swimming, hunting and hiking are all here for your enjoyment. Our central location is within a 30 minutes drive of Montauk State Park (Trout Fishing), Current River, Gasconade River, and Paddy Creek Wilderness Area 18 miles circular trail (hiking, hunting, horse trails).

Within a 60 minute drive is the Jacks Fork River and the Niangua River.

The Big Piney is well known for its excellent small mouth bass fishing. The river also contains good population of large mouth bass, goggle eye, bluegill and catfish.

Texas County annually is one of the top deer and turkey hunting harvest counties in the state.

  • We are a pet friendly operation. We asks that your dog be good natured and housebroken. We have a safe spacious dog kennel with a dog house and canopy. Limit one dog.
