Pecos River Cabin is a fully restored, luxuriously equipped 100-year-old log cabin in New Mexico's breathtaking Pecos Canyon. On the banks of the year-round Pecos River, the cabin offers private fishing rights and close proximity to some of the best hiking and birding in the Southwest. At nearly 8,000 feet, temperatures are moderate, skies are blue and nights crisp and star-filled. The city of Santa Fe, just a short drive away, offers a nearly limitless range of entertainment, dining and cultural activities, and surrounding areas such as Las Vegas, NM and Truth or Consequences provide alternatives ranging from hot springs to Native American craft markets. The cabin has one large bedroom (queen bed) and one small bathroom upstairs, including a washer and dryer, with living room and kitchen/dining room downstairs. There is a wood-burning stove in the living room, and wood is provided. The cabin also has very efficient thermostat-regulated gas heat. The living room sofa extends to a full-size bed with comfortable inner-spring mattress. Families with children often pitch a tent on the meadow off the cabin's patio for an additional adventure for the kids. Pecos River Cabin is fully equipped with luxury cotton and flannel bed and bath linens, down comforters, complete kitchenware including spices, dozens of games, books and puzzles, and amenities such as shampoo, conditioner and soaps for body, dishes and laundry. A gas grill is on the patio, and a hammock under the tall trees is a great place to doze or read a book from the cabin's extensive library. For those rare rainy days, a television and large DVD library are sure to entertain. Pecos River Cabin is a delightful place to pass a week or a long weekend away from it all. |
