Location: Pacific City, Oregon
Additional Location Information: Uncle Jim's Cabin is in the small town of Pacific City, Oregon. Pacific City is about 2 hours from the largest metropolitan city of Portland and about 1 hr from the capital of Oregon, Salem. Much to do in this area, we boast many great fishing oppotunities. There are 2 great rivers to explore, the Little Nestucca and the Big Nestucca, which offer both seasonal Salmon and Steelhead runs. Many areas to brave the mighty Pacific ocean to catch a variety of ocean fish. Directly to the south of Pacific City, where the Nestucca River meets the ocean, there is Nestucca Bay where you can throw in a crab pot or two and dig for clams. If you are looking to explore other options, Uncle Jims's is a few miles south of Sandlake, a fun place for an offroad experience where you can ride ATV's or other sand toys. Many great hiking trails around, Cape Lookout offers a couple of nice trails, one to the last point of land that drops into the ocean and one that zig-zags down to the beach! A bit further south is Cascade Head where many hiking trails abound as well as more fishing and crabbing on the Salmon river. Pacific City offers some quaint shops and restaraunts, an award winning Brew Pub located on the beach that is family friendly and serves a great meal! If you need more options, about a 30 minute drive north is Tillamook where ther is a larger selection of shops, restaurants and attractions. A 30 minute drive south will take you through the small beach community of Neskowin and then into Lincoln City. Much to do, a bit larger, with more shops, restaraunts, golfing, a casnio and even boasts Devils Lake for boating and fishing! |
